We're Excited to be a part of the Pier West Project!

Reinbold Engineering is excited to announce our involvement in the Pier West project!

Location: New Westminster, BC

A complete redevelopment of the area that includes: a 53-storey tower, that has a restaurant space on the first floor, amenity space on levels 2, 3 and 4 and 364 condo units, a 43-storey tower with five townhouses on the lower level and amenity space on levels 1-4, with a total of 296 condo units, and finally a four-storey commercial building that has two retail units on the main level and three levels of daycare. Building will be built over a common 379,250ft2 parkade with a large portion of the above grade area to be a public park. This development has over 650,000ft2 of sellable area. It is to be built on the shore of the Fraser River with an 8m wide esplanade on the river edge. Towers are to incorporate 4 pipe fan coils, with each tower having its own separate heating and cooling plant with a condensing boiler for heating and domestic hot water. Modular water to water chiller that will have a twin cell closed circuit evaporative cooling tower, condenser domestic hot water pre-heat and water side economizer. The four-storey commercial building will incorporate a VRF system.

A 20-storey tower with 116 condo units, first floor 5,900ft2 retail space, five level above grade parkade and a green roof on level six. Designed with hybrid heat pumps for suite heating and cooling contained with individual ERV’s for ventilation and is LEED© Certified. Along with a condensing boiler for heating and domestic hot water with a close circuit evaporative cooler for loop cooling.  Designed with highly efficient condensing domestic water heaters and a vertical stacking hybrid heat pump system with an integrated HRV, condensing boilers and high efficient cooling tower. This will significantly increase the efficiency of the heating and cooling of the building, will leave a smaller carbon footprint and allows for easier access for future maintenance.

Reinbold Joins the Mirvish Village Project

Reinbold Engineering is excited to announce our involvement in the Mirvish Village project!

Location: Toronto, ON

Category: Mixed Use Residential

This project is a mix of six new towers and ten heritage buildings that contains 806 residential suites and with a street level that has over 217,000 ft2 of retail and commercial space. It has 5 levels of below grade parking and an innovative automatic bicycle elevator for short term storage. Each tower will be provided with district energy from the co-gen plant.

Reinbold Engineering Expands to the Seattle, WA Market

We are pleased to announce that we have been named as the Mechanical Engineering and Energy Modeling consultant for this exciting new Westbank project. This new mixed use project shall include two 45 story residential high rise towers and a single four story low rise residential tower, all residing on a common 3 story commercial and retail podium. The building shall include six floors of below grade parking and back of house areas, including a 5 story underground parkade. Each building will have its own penthouse mechanical room and the retail podium will connect the two towers with a glass “Galleria.”

Building amenities include a rooftop pool situated at the top of one of the high rise towers, rooftop Gardens, fitness center and an outdoor dog park.

The building complex is targeting LEED Silver accreditation and shall meet the demanding Seattle energy code requirements. The mechanical systems shall consist of two separate mechanical plants, with high efficient condensing boiler plants and water based cooling systems. Suite heating and cooling will be accomplished through 4-pipe vertical stack fan coil units. The below grade parking ventilation system shall be controlled using demand based ventilation strategies to reduce the energy consumption of the building.

Once completed, this project will include approximately 1048 residential units, over 140,000 ft2 of retail and commercial space and ample parking for 791 vehicles.

This exciting development by Westbank Corp. and Allied Properties REIT is a 58 Story mixed use retail/commercial/residential building. The innovative design by Hariri Pontarini Architects (HPA)  will highlight the location and will integrate ENWAVE’s district cooling system to provide year-round cooling with unsurpassed reliability. It will be heated by ENWAVE’s first ever district hot water system providing reliable, eco-friendly and cost effective heating with minimal maintenance.  The project incorporates an existing heritage building with six floors of high efficiency underfloor air distribution (UFAD) office space, while adding 498 residential units in the tower above.
