Junior to Intermediate Level Energy Modeller - Calgary Office

Reinbold Engineering Group is a national mechanical engineering firm with offices located in Calgary, Vancouver, Toronto, Edmonton and Kelowna. Our company specializes in the design of HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systems in commercial, healthcare, institutional, residential and mixed-use high-rise projects. Currently, we are seeking a Junior to Intermediate Level Energy Modeller for our Calgary Office as we are expanding and growing. Job Description and Responsibilities:
  • Energy analysis and modelling
  • Strong understanding of building mechanical systems
  • Knowledgeable in building envelope and electrical systems
  • Design of building systems and the use of energy modelling software
  • Provide guidance on energy modelling to other project team members
  • Update energy simulations as the design phase progresses and provide technical analysis and support during the construction phase
  • Strong writing and communication skills are essential in order to prepare the required reports and to engage with clients and authorities effectively
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate would have:
  • A bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • EIT or P.Eng.
  • Three or more years of experience
  • Experience with High-Rise Residential, Commercial and/or Institutional buildings
  • Energy modelling experience for code compliance or green building certification
  • Experience with AutoCad and Revit
  • LEED Accreditation and familiarity with LEED documentation is an asset
  • Strong knowledge of energy modelling software, such as, eQuest, CanQuest, DOE, EnergyPlus IES, Trace or other energy simulation software and tools
