Doug Reinbold, P.Eng., LEED AP, is the founder and a senior mechanical engineer with over 35 years of experience in the building and construction industry. His practical experience as a journeyman plumber and gas-fitter provide him with a solid foundation when it comes to mechanical engineering design. He has worked on numerous projects of all sizes and complexities in Canada, the USA, and Australia. Doug’s broad and extensive experience is a valuable resource which will aid in the successful design, construction, and commissioning of any project.

Doug is licensed to practice in Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, British Columbia, Ontario, Nova Scotia, Yukon Territory and the North West Territories, as well as in Washington State, California and New Jersey. Doug is a member of multiple professional associations including the Washington State Association of Engineers, the Canadian Healthcare Engineering Society, the Canadian Green Building Council, and other provincial engineering associations. He is a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) Accredited Professional.

Jason Edey joined Reinbold Engineering in 2001 as a Principal. He is a senior mechanical designer with more than 29 years of technical experience on projects of various size, complexity, and type. His attention to detail and conviction to quality control ensures that the client receives the best service and product available. Jason is currently the Senior Principal who oversees the design and construction of our seniors and institutional projects in our Toronto office.  Jason ensures that all system designs meet or exceed current codes providing the owner with a quality, energy efficient system.

Jason is a member of the International Ground Course Heat Pump Association (IGSHPA), U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), Canada Green Build Council (CaGBC), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) and a member of American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE).

Chris Schulz is senior project manager in the Calgary office with 20 years experience in the industry.  He completed the Engineering Design and Drafting Technology program at Thompson Rivers University in 1998 and has extensive experience designing and managing a variety of commercial, institutional and multi-family low and high rise projects.  Chris is a dedicated and knowledgeable team member with a commitment to providing excellence in mechanical design from project start to construction completion.  Outside of the office Chris enjoys spending time with his family doing outdoor activities such as hiking and skiing/snowboarding.

Greg Fisher has 20 years of experience as a designer and project manager and is in our Calgary office.  Greg’s first experience with building mechanical systems was as an air-balance technician and commissioning agent on commercial and institutional projects. He has leveraged his experience and the knowledge learned commissioning buildings to design efficient and effective mechanical systems without unnecessary complication and cost.  He is well versed in Revit and Navisworks and guides our design, drafting, and modelling standards as we strive to continuously improve our service to our clients. Away from the office Greg stays active biking and camping with his family.

Richard is the managing Principal of Reinbold Engineering Group’s Building Performance and Sustainability team and has been with the firm since 2005.  Based in Calgary, Richard oversees energy modelling and sustainability projects across North America and is a registered Professional Engineer in British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario and Nova Scotia.  Richard has a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering where his studies focused on Solar Thermal energy.  He is also an ASHRAE Certified Building Energy Modelling Professional (BEMP), LEED Accredited Professional and Certified Passive House Designer (CPHD).  Richard has experience in net zero projects, energy audits and works with our mechanical engineering and commissioning teams to integrate sustainability and energy efficiency into all aspects of Reinbold Engineering Group’s services.

Tony Pagnotta is the principal in charge of the Kelowna office, where he is responsible for operations within the British Columbia interior and also assists with projects across Western Canada. He has over 15 years of experience in the mechanical engineering industry. Tony has been involved in every project in the British Columbia interior since our first contract in Kelowna in 2004. He has successfully completed commercial, office, retail, low & high-rise residential, and institutional projects. Tony is committed to finding energy savings in his system designs that not only save energy long term but also are cost-effective to construct and operate. Many of his projects have achieved BuiltGreen and LEED certifications.

Peter Teunissen joined Reinbold Engineering in 2022 as Chief Financial Officer, bringing over 15 years of progressive experience in accounting, finance & operations to our management team. Peter is an entrepreneurial and results-driven CPA (CA) with the Alberta Institute of Chartered Professional Accountants and oversees all aspects of finance, human resource, administration and operational risk management. During his career, Peter has worked throughout Alberta gaining a range of experience in residential, civil, commercial, multi-family & land development construction projects.  Away from the office Peter is an avid car and motorcycle enthusiast and manages a charity with his wife Michelle.

Michael Ream is an experienced professional senior mechanical engineer with over 20 years of experience in the building and construction industry. Micheal plays a vital role in further strengthening our processes & quality standards to ensure our client receive the highest quality of work. Michael also works with our teams to ensure they have the tools to operate effectively and efficiently.

Edward Lazar, P.Eng. is a senior mechanical engineer with over 25 years of experience in the building and construction industry. His broad design, construction management, and system commissioning experience in HVAC, plumbing, medical gas, compressed air and fire protection. He has worked in health-care, commercial, institutional and industrial building projects. Edward coordinates and manages projects to ensure they are managed successfully and completed on schedule and budget. Edward’s knowledge and experience in sustainable building design as well as familiarity of the National Building Code, CSA Standards, BC & Alberta Building Codes, ASHRAE guidelines and NFPA ensure accurate and efficient designs.

Michael Raiva, P.Eng. is the Vancouver office manager.  He carries more than 17 years in engineering sustainable mechanical systems, project management, and mechanical systems commissioning. Michael’s career includes the completion of projects spanning a diverse range including healthcare, office, education, higher education, mining, waste/water treatment plants, food & retail, correction facilities, and recreation. He has also participated in District Energy System Feasibility Studies on behalf of government agencies. These and other experiences position him well for implementing innovative, total cost-effective and sustainable solutions.

Byron Whitford is a senior mechanical designer and project manager with over 20 years of experience on a wide variety of projects. As an effective senior project manager, Byron has successfully completed over 300 various commercial, institutional, industrial, and residential projects. Byron started his engineering career in the Northwest Territories performing tasks such as drafting and surveying and has progressed to mechanical engineering design and project management. The knowledge and experience that Byron has gained through the years as Project Manager have equipped him with the aptitude to provide clients with the best solutions for their building system needs.

Dalen Schadeck is a Mechanical Engineer with over 8 years of experience in the building construction industry. Dalen is well experienced in all aspects of mechanical systems design & project management; with experience producing construction documents for HVAC, plumbing and gas piping systems across multiple building types. He has designed complete mechanical systems for numerous mid and high rise residential, commercial, retail, institutional, modular and industrial projects across Canada. Dalen’s dedication to quality, consistency and efficiency will ensure project outcomes are consistent with the customers’ requirements.

Luke has 17 years of professional experience, with a commitment to sustainability and mechanical engineering. He is an ASHRAE certified Building Energy Modelling Professional (BEMP) as well as an Accredited Professional for LEED BD+C and WELL. Luke is familiar with Canadian/American codes and standards and the BC Energy Step Code. Luke has proven competency in mechanical engineering design and project management, and energy/sustainability studies. And he has a strong consulting background in new build and major renovation projects for sectors such as commercial, institutional, infrastructural, water treatment, healthcare, and office.

With considerable experience in sustainability, simulation, decarbonization, energy master planning, and energy auditing, Luke can guide the project team with practical strategies to achieve project targets. With his knowledge of decarbonization, Luke delivered a presentation – NRCan Northern Forestry Centre Carbon Natural Study during the 2019 Real Property Institute of Canada (RPIC) National Workshop in Ottawa.

Luke has the Reliability Clearance Certificate with the Government of Canada and has been involved in various types of PSPC projects.

Kevin is an Associate, Mechanical Engineer and Project Manager with 9 years of experience designing mechanical and plumbing systems. He has worked on a wide variety of projects  across Canada and the United States. Kevin started his engineering career in Calgary, Alberta as in 2014 and has been actively involved in the HVAC industry ever since. He is an associate member of with the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration, and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) and member of the Association of Professional Engineers & Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA). In this role Kevin is responsible for mechanical design, project budgeting and scheduling, and coordination with other design team members and contractors. His strong communication skills and technical expertise has led to hundreds of successful projects across the industry.

Vittesh Bahuguna is an experienced Mechanical Engineer in our Toronto, ON office.  He has over 11 years of experience in consulting engineering from conceptual design to detailed design for HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection in various healthcare, institutional, multi-unit high-rise residential, commercial, institutional, industrial buildings and commercial/medical cannabis plant. Versed in GMP, fume/lab exhaust and mission critical facilities. Experience with high budgeted projects, over $700M.

Peter Wagner is a Mechanical Engineer and Project Manager in our Vancouver, BC office with 37 years of experience in delivering cost effective and energy efficient solutions to complex mechanical design challenges throughout British Columbia. Peter has significant project experience related to the design of HVAC, Plumbing, Power Generation and Distribution, Fire Protection and Life Safety systems for multiple building types. In his role, Peter is focused on providing design leadership and project management for many concurrent mixed-use residential high-rise and low carbon projects.

Brad has over 6 years of experience in mechanical system design, building modelling and project management; contributing to project deliveries from the initial Schematic Design phase through to construction and occupancy. Brad has over 4 years of practical experience in the construction industry, which informs his ability to incorporate mechanical systems with the components of an ultimately simple, efficient and cost-effective building. As a member of Reinbold’s technical team and a core member of the Vancouver office, Brad has a commitment to always strive for the highest quality designs for the success of our client’s projects.

Brad is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia.

Steven joined Reinbold Engineering in 2012 as an entry level drafter and flourished to a proven Associate. Within a few short years of starting Steven had provided an immediate impact to the operations and standards of the company with his attention to detail and processes. Steven’s expertise and passion has developed into high performing low rise multi-family residential buildings with the majority of projects he has been involved with having achieved one or more of the following certifications: Built Green – Platinum, BC Step code 4 and LEED. Steven has excelled in providing energy conscious, cost-efficient mechanical designs for his clients in low rise, retail and office industries.

Steven is a member of the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), Canada Green Build Council (CaGBC), Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia (EGBC), Applied Science Technologists & Technicians of BC (ASTTBC) and American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE).

In his free time, you’ll find him volunteering with the Canadian Ski Patrol and Junior Chamber International looking to provide value back to the community he grew up in.

Kristopher McMenamon is an Associate and our Edmonton branch Manager. Kristopher is a dedicated mechanical engineer with over 17 years of experience in the design of industrial, institutional, and commercial building mechanical systems. He is a proven leader who continually displays commitment to the profession. He thrives on conquering challenges, being innovative and thinking outside-the-box when it comes to mechanical solutions.

Kristopher stays focused on emergent technologies to ensure maximum product, energy efficiency and overall project cost-savings. His solid and varied interpersonal skills developed through project coordination with national & international engineers, architects, and suppliers; regional foremen and tradespeople; local owners, politicians, and community members will be an asset to any project team.

Tony Christensen is a mechanical designer and project manager in our Kelowna, BC office with over 10 years of experience in the building construction industry. Tony is well experienced in all aspects of mechanical systems design; with experience producing construction documents for HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systems across multiple building types. He has designed the complete mechanical systems for numerous Mid and high rise residential, commercial, retail, institutional and industrial projects across Canada. Tony’s dedication to quality, consistency and efficiency will ensure a project outcome consistent with the Owner’s requirements.

Mitchell Adams is an Associate, Mechanical Engineer and Project Manager in our Calgary, AB office with 9 years of experience designing mechanical and plumbing systems. He has worked on a wide variety of projects including warehouses, mixed use residential towers, commercial office spaces, restaurants, and industrial spaces across Canada and the United States. Mitchell started his engineering career in Calgary, Alberta as an Intern in 2014 and has been actively involved in the HVAC industry ever since. He has held numerous roles with the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration, and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) and has most recently served as Chapter Technical Transfer Committee Chair for Southern Alberta.  He has worked as a Mechanical Designer, Project Manager and currently works as an Associate at Reinbold Engineering Group. In this role Mitchell is responsible for mechanical design, project budgeting and scheduling, and coordination with other design team members and contractors. His strong communication skills and technical expertise has led to hundreds of successful projects across the industry.
