106 Bay St is a 6-storey apartment rental that will be operated and managed by City Housing Hamilton (CHH). The project is building to the Passive House Classic Standard, with Passive House Certified Windows and ventilation systems. The project will use air-source heat pump based supply air heating and cooling with VAV air supply, with electric resistance supplementary heat in each suite, with a high efficiency condensing boiler for domestic hot water, including drainwater heat recovery and low flow fixtures. An independent area of refuge with power from the emergency generator can provide an air conditioned space for up to 60 people in case of a power failure.
