Blood Alley

Blood Alley is a 10-storey, 110,770 ft² mixed-use development on West Cordova in Gastown. The development is a partnership between Westbank and BC Housing and will see both the Stanley and New Fountain hotel façades retained, and a 10-storey building added behind. The site is unique as it backs on to Blood Alley, which is also undergoing a separate planning process by the city.

Construction for the project completed in October 2022, with the development now providing 80 social housing units and 62 secured market rental units for Vancouver residents. The development includes retail units at street level, as well as restaurant use. The retail units will wrap around into the re-established “mews” connection between West Cordova Street and Blood Alley Square.

Energy Recovery Ventilators (ERVs) serve exhaust air and provide fresh air to the suites. Hydronic baseboard heating serves each suite. Gas fired domestic water boilers and storage tanks. Gas fired boilers and cooling tower plant to serve commercial heating and cooling, with horizontal heat pumps.
