Boiler Upgrades – RRDTC

The project involved the phased replacement of the large dual fuel heating boilers and controls that serve the facility.  Our role was to review and confirm the existing heating loads and engineer and select new boilers and controls and to provide project management services as the prime consultant. This involved coordinating the Electrical and structural disciplines. The work involved the removal of an existing asbestos laden boiler and components and the installation of a new boiler.  The work took place during heating season as the boiler had failed.  Part of the work involved coordinating the installation and operation of a temporary boiler plant to ensure there was adequate heat during the period of the work occurred.  This required much coordination and cooperation with the trades and building operators over the time of the work being carried out.
