Carrington View Building A is a +65,000 sq. ft., four-storey wood frame residential building containing 64 low-carbon, market rental units. The development achieved the top step of the BC Energy Step Code exceeding the total energy use intensity target of Step 4 by 67%. In addition, the building also achieved LEED Gold certification, Built Green Canada Platinum certification, it was a Canada Green Building Council’s Zero Carbon better buildings challenge winner and received BC Hydro and CMHC incentives. The mechanical design includes individual high-efficient heat pumps and ERVs for heating, cooling and ventilation with heat pump domestic water heaters and low flow fixtures.
