KF Aerospace Facility

New Okanagan College Flightcraft Aviation Training Facility – a landmark development at Kelowna International Airport.

Delivered in partnership with KF Aerospace and the BPL Legacy Association, this purpose-built, approximately 42,000 ft² facility will play a critical role in advancing aviation training in the region, bringing together classrooms, shops, and a full-scale aircraft hangar under one roof.

The project features a 15,000 ft² aircraft hangar designed for hands-on training of aviation technicians, alongside a two-storey academic and shop wing totaling over 20,000 ft². The ground level integrates active learning environments, including multiple shop spaces, storage, and support areas, directly connected to the hangar floor, while the second level provides classrooms, offices, and an open viewing auditorium overlooking hangar operations.

Designed to support Okanagan College’s Aircraft Maintenance Engineering programs, the facility reflects a strong emphasis on applied, industry-driven education, enabling students to gain real-world experience in a modern aviation environment.

Reinbold’s mechanical systems design and energy modelling approach focused on delivering high-performance building systems that respond to the unique demands of a large-span hangar paired with academic and technical training spaces. The result is an efficient, comfortable, and resilient facility that supports both intensive shop use and classroom learning.

This project represents a significant investment in the future of aerospace training in the Okanagan, helping expand program capacity and create new pathways into a rapidly growing industry
