Little Mountain (Building AB – 36th Ave)

This new construction project is a 6-storey building consisting of 48 social housing suites, a daycare on the first floor and a community gathering area on the 2nd floor. The residential roof will house the mechanical penthouse and a roof top amenity.

The building is served by three separate VRF systems, each dedicated to a specific occupancy (residential, daycare, and neighbourhood house). Each system provides heating and cooling through distributed indoor units, with central outdoor condensing units located in the mechanical penthouse. Ventilation is provided via a combination of Energy Recovery Ventilators (ERV), and make-up air systems designed to meet requirements for each occupancy type.

Three independent domestic hot water (DHW) systems are provided, one per occupancy, each utilizing CO₂ heat pump technology for high-efficiency hot water generation, complete with storage and recirculation. The neighbourhood house includes a commercial kitchen equipped with a Type I exhaust hood, dedicated grease rated exhaust fan, and a tempered make-up air unit. Major equipment is located in the mechanical penthouse, and all systems are integrated through a centralized controls system for efficient operation and monitoring.
