Vernon Jubilee Hospital Medical Imaging Department Renovation and Expansion
At Vernon Jubilee Hospital, the Ultrasound Department underwent a significant renovation and expansion to accommodate growing demand for diagnostic imaging services and improve overall patient care delivery. The work was completed in an area adjacent to the existing department, allowing the facility to remain fully operational throughout construction.
The renovated Ultrasound Department was designed and delivered in compliance with current IPAC and CSA standards, with a strong focus on both operational efficiency and patient experience. The upgraded space included 4 new ultrasound exam rooms, along with expanded staff and support areas such as a supervisor office, four technician workstations, a booking clerk area, and a dedicated probe reprocessing room. This reprocessing area incorporated one new Trophon unit, one existing unit, and provision for an additional future unit to support ongoing infection prevention and control requirements.
Additional support spaces were integrated within a dedicated staff corridor, including HEPA-filtered storage for semi-critical probes, shelving for clean supply stock, an ice machine, and custom millwork. Patient areas were also enhanced with separate inpatient and outpatient waiting areas (including stretcher accommodation), two universal washrooms, and a dedicated patient change room, all contributing to improved flow, privacy, and comfort throughout the department.
